By popular demand, Ketebul Music’s critically acclaimed production African Twist: The Soundtrack of Kenya’s Independence is returning to the stage this winter for a bigger, bolder, and completely reimagined run. Following last year's sold-out shows, this musical journey dives deep into the sounds, stories, and political awakening that defined a nation finding its footing.
Produced by Tabu Osusa, directed by Martin Kigonde, and written by Paul Kelemba (Maddo), the production features a brilliant, dynamic young cast breathing fresh energy into the timeless rhythms that soundtracked Kenya's journey to freedom. At a time when conversations around identity and neo-colonialism continue to shape our present, African Twist revisits our roots to question and celebrate what independence truly feels like.
The production runs from July 30th to August 2nd at Alliance Française Nairobi.
