Venue: Alliance Française Mombasa, Alliance Française Nairobi, Geco Café & Dunga Hill Camp Kisumu
Following her groundbreaking book launch and introductory showcase in late 2025, Japan’s acclaimed Nyatiti Queen, Anyango Nyar Siaya, returns to Kenya this June for an official four-date concert series. While last year's emotional homecoming focused on her literary bridging of Tokyo and western Kenya, the 2026 tour takes that cultural connection directly to the stage with a full live band.
The tour kicks off on Friday, 12th June at Alliance Française Mombasa, hits Alliance Française Nairobi on Thursday, 18th June (partnering with Fête de la Musique), moves to Geco Café on Saturday, 20th June, and wraps up lakeside at Dunga Hill Camp in Kisumu on Saturday, 27th June.
Flanked by premier Kenyan instrumentalists and long-time collaborator Makadem, Anyango will fuse spiritual traditional strings with high-energy global benga rhythms. To keep grassroots heritage accessible, entry is entirely free across all venues.
